ThinkNW Marketing All-Star Profile: John Graham, Dutch Bros Coffee
We’re pleased to announce our first class of ThinkNW Marketing All-Stars. Chosen by the ThinkNW board and executive team, this program kicks off a tradition of recognizing the unique marketing talent that drives our industry and region forward.
We asked our honorees to share a bit about their work, lives and what the Pacific Northwest means to them.
Here’s what John Graham, CMO of Dutch Bros, had to say.
How long have you been in your current role?
A little over a year.
What do you value most in your work in this role, and what do you consider your biggest accomplishment in your current role?
It has been an honor and one of the greatest pleasures of my life to work at this company and with these people. What I value most is not only Dutch Bros’ commitment to providing top-of-the-line service and dedication to making a massive difference one cup at a time, but the commitment to those same goals and values from every single person who works here.
It is truly amazing to work alongside a team of kind, talented, intelligent people on every level of this business, and I feel extremely lucky to have been brought onto this team.
Since I’ve been in this role, our most significant accomplishment is the launch and continued success of the Dutch Bros app and its Dutch Rewards program. This is a project the team has worked on for years, and the dedication to bringing only the best possible product to market is what I believe has put us in such a good position. Our loyalty numbers have continued to grow, customers love it, and our whole team is incredibly proud of how far it has come and the opportunities we continue to have to make the Dutch Bros experience even better.
What do you like to do outside of your work?
The most important thing I like to do outside of work is to spend time with my wife and kids. We love to ski and take every opportunity we can to travel and see the country. I’m a big motorcycle enthusiast, runner and love going to NBA games.
What impact does the Pacific Northwest have on your work?
Dutch Bros first started in Southern Oregon in 1992, so the Pacific Northwest has been involved in my work longer than I have! We have many customers who have been with us and following this journey since the beginning, and the opportunity we have to create jobs, build up communities, and launch us into an even better future in Oregon and in the PNW as a whole is really astounding.
How would you characterize the Pacific Northwest marketing/creative community? In your mind, what makes it unique?
The Pacific Northwest is, and has always been, filled with innovation, creativity, and a love for the outdoors. Something really special about the PNW is that companies built here care deeply about creating a better world and a better future for all of us—that’s the case with Dutch Bros, as well. The culture in the PNW is one of caring for your neighbor and for the planet, and it’s something I’m proud to be part of.
